Q&A: Petra Ceronio with Banting BLVD

This Women’s Month, we’re honouring the ladies who inspire us to tap into our feminine #GirlBoss powers and live life with intention. That’s why this week, we’d like to introduce you to Petra Ceronio (@bbg_bunny_za). She’s fitness and business #goalz with an enviable Instagram feed to match! We’ve loved getting to know her over on the ‘gram, and can’t wait for you to find out more about her dreams, inspiration and self-care tips…

What does being a woman mean to you?

As simple a question as this seems at first, it became incredibly complex in my mind when I thought about my answer! Being a woman, today, means living true to my values and having the ability to love, care and nurture my family in a way that only a woman can.

As a busy woman, what's your self-care ritual?

Self-care, for me, has such a wide net. It includes skincare, body and diet - it means looking after my whole self. I have a basic skincare regime and I never go without moisturizer! I try to fit exercise in at least 5 times a week, in 20-40min slots depending on how much time I have. I eat good wholesome food, most of which I prep on Sundays to save time during the week! Lastly, but most importantly, self-care includes mental health and this means taking time out to reflect on where I am and what I’m doing in my life.

Which powerful #GirlBoss is inspiring you this month?

There are so many women inspiring me this month, but if I had to choose just one, it would be Candice Bodington of @CandiBod on Instagram. I love her Bodfit Club concept and kind of wish I could go to Cape Town and attend a session!

What did you dream of doing as a young girl?

I always wanted to help people, and for a long time I wanted to go into the medical field. I also swam as a sport, and honestly thought that one day I would go pro! :) Nowadays I do help people, in the corporate world, and even though I never went pro with my swimming I’m grateful that I can still move my body and put it through its paces during my land training.

What foods fuel you to be your best self?

This is a loaded question... I just love all the food! But realistically, to fuel my body to be my best self, I stay away from refined sugars, processed foods and dairy, and I eat a lot of fresh fruits and veg, whole grains, nuts, seeds and protein... and @BantingBlvd No-Bake treats... :)

Lastly, what’s your favourite motivational mantra?

I can achieve what I believe!
